Privacy Policy

The short version

We don't store your resume, and we don't store the job page we read. Both are used in memory to generate your results and then discarded. The two Word files are sent straight to your browser and are never stored on our servers.

What we keep, and for how long

To enforce the free daily limit, we keep only:

• An anonymous visitor id from our cookie, and a salted hash of your IP address. We never store the IP address itself. A use counts against both, so clearing the cookie does not reset the limit.
• How many times each of those used TailorCV on a given day. Deleted after about 30 days.
• The times of your recent submissions, to slow down repeat submissions. Deleted after about an hour.
• A marker while one of your requests is running, removed when it finishes.

Our logs do not include resume text, job descriptions, links, job-page content, file names, or generated content.

Your files

Your two Word files are never stored on our servers. They are sent to your browser with your results and kept only in that tab for 15 minutes so you can download them. They are gone sooner if you click Delete now, refresh, or close the tab. If a run fails, nothing is kept.

The cookie

There is one cookie. It is used only for the daily limit, it is not used to track you across sites, and you can clear it at any time.

OpenAI

To generate your results, your resume text and the job description are sent to OpenAI. The company summary is a separate request and does not include your resume. OpenAI does not use this content for training. OpenAI may keep requests for up to 30 days for abuse monitoring and then delete them; TailorCV does not control that retention.

Job links

If you give us a job link, our server reads that public page once. The site sees a request from our server, not your resume.
